WHO new strategy for HIV/AIDS, 2011-2015, to be discussed at the 128th Executive Board
From the onset of the epidemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been guiding the global health sector response to HIV based on a series of broad-based strategies such as the “3 by 5” Strategy. In May 2010, the WHO Member States have approved the Resolution WHA63.19, calling for development of a new strategy to guide global health sector action in 2011-2015. The draft Strategy is based on consultations involving over 90 Member States and the general public in all regions through an on-line consultation, and is scheduled for discussion at the 128th Session in of the WHO Executive Board on 17-25 January 2011.
