AIDS and HIV in the World
In year 2001 it was reported that there are 35,890,000 people who have a problem with both HIV and AIDS infection. Out of the total number, it was confirmed that approximately 18 million women have signs of HIV infection and a bit more than 17 million men have symptoms of HIV . There are 35,890,000 people who have HIV or AIDS of which 1,270,000 of them are children who are under 12 years or younger.
It is fascinating how this disease is spreading at great speed and the fact that in 1990 number of 20,340,000 people lived with this dangerous virus. The data is concerning both doctors and scientists because for a decade the number of patients with HIV and AIDS infections have increased by 15 million patients, which represents a very large number of people who have this disease.
However these are official numbers of recorded cases, still many people in the world today suffer from this illness and are not aware of it. Once HIV is detected, it takes some time for infected person to find out in which particular way he/she got infected. In Central America, there are now living between 750,000 and 850,000 thousand of people who have HIV infection.
A large number of people lost their lives because of this disease in America, according to recent research, and 327,000 people lost their lives in Central America since the first appearance of HIV infection. The numbers speak for themselves and this story is proof of how HIV and AIDS is still dangerous condition and has no mercy no matter someone's age, race or wealthiness.
