Implementation Science

Implementation Science

A key to CDC's global health work is in ensuring that the HIV/AIDS interventions we support in our partner countries are scientifically sound and delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible. CDC employs its research and evaluation expertise to identify strategies and approaches that deliver high quality, cost-effective programs in challenging environments.

CDC supports partner countries in designing, implementing, and evaluating HIV-related disease surveillance systems and surveys, and assists countries in analyzing, disseminating, and using HIV data to inform decision-making in planning and implementation of HIV programs.

Building on its support for improved HIV surveillance, CDC assists partner countries in developing and implementing strategies to monitor and evaluate the process, outcomes, and impact of HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs; develop improved planning and reporting systems; and in implement and evaluate novel approaches for conducting monitoring and evaluation.
