Know Your Status: Native HIV

Know Your Status: Native HIV Testing Promotional Materials Now Available

The Indian Health Service National HIV/AIDS Program is pleased to announce the availability of media materials promoting routine HIV Testing for American Indians and Alaska Natives. The campaign was first developed in 2008 by a nationwide group of American Indian / Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian partners and community members, who sought to develop a Native-specific media campaign promoting routine HIV testing. Today, the IHS National HIV/AIDS Program is happy to support this community campaign, by printing and distributing these important materials for your use.

The community has emphasized that ‘It’s time for us to protect ourselves and our people. HIV testing is recommended for everyone as a part of routine healthcare.’
