.HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. It is a medical condition where the HIV attacks the cells in our body that fight with the infections. These cells are known as the T cells or CD4 cells and are responsible to fight against the micro organisms that cause cancers and other infections. Once this virus is inside the body, it starts killing the T cells and start multiplying finally coming to a stage when the body loses all its power to fight against the diseases. In other words, the immunity system of the body totally collapses. This virus, though similar to the flu virus, is a thousand times more harmful as over a period of time our body flushes out most of the viruses from it but for some reason cannot get rid of this virus. Experts are at a loss to know why is this the case. Furthermore, 1 in every 5 who suffer from HIV, does not know that he/she is suffering from it. This brings us to the HIV symptoms.
