These ways include unsafe sex (sex without condom) with infected partner, through infected blood, through the bodily floods like vaginal fluids, semen etc. it can be spread out through contaminated blood and the use of the dirty needles that are used by the infected person.

The period from the infection to the development of AIDS is known as the stages of HIV infection. When a person gets infected with the HIV at the beginning some symptoms appear in a person that is known as early symptoms. They include flu-like illness, headache, weight loss etc. However, these symptoms may not be appearing in all people. HIV that hides in the CD4 cells replicates itself for the development of the HIV infection. This replication process occurs slowly. It does not mean that the virus stops the damaging process. When the CD4 cells destroyed completely by the virus it overcomes the immune system. As a result of this opportunistic infections assault on the immune system. It directly affects the count on CD4 cells. When the CD4 cells' count drops down below 200 it means a person is applicable for called as AIDS infected. AIDS that stands for Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome is the advanced stage of HIV. However, there are some standard blood tests that can be performed for HIV results.

Retesting is necessary as it confirms the existence of antibodies in the blood. So a person should get himself tested again. There are some confirmatory tests that will be usual for detecting the antibodies in the blood. So the tests should be performed at the initial stage of HIV infection. It means soon after the exposure, after six weeks and eventually a test after the three months of exposure. However, you can perform a test after the six month of the exposure. If you have carried out all tests (test series) and in spite of that the results are negative then consider yourself as negative.
