Strategy of HIV

HIV virus has certain strategy for damaging the CD4 cells. CD4 cells are the chief cells that form the immune system. There are two types of T helper cells. The first one is CD8 and second one is CD4 cells. CD8 cells remove the infected cells from the body. On the other hand CD4 cells protect the body from the infections and diseases. HIV is one of the infections that damage the CD4 cells in order to seize the immune system. However, it is not the process of one day, but it takes eight to ten years. HIV exists in the CD4 cells. CD4 cells are unable to resist the virus as it reproduces itself. The most important thing is that the replication process does not stop till the virus grabs the immune system completely. CD4 cells keep our body protected and healthy but as it declines because of the virus many infections that usually can not harm the body, attack on the immune system. However, in such condition the immune can not stop the attack as it has been collapsed totally. These infections who take the benefit of the damaged immune system are known as opportunistic infections. At the end the virus grabs the immune system and develops itself to AIDS. Acute HIV infection

Acute HIV infection is the first stage of HIV infection. It begins soon after a person gets infected with HIV. It continuous for few weeks. A person experiences symptoms like illness etc. These symptoms mislead many people as they are similar to other infections like flu-like illness. People who take treatment more often misdiagnose it with a viral infection. HIV test results appear as negative in this stage. The antibodies are not produced by the immune system. Asymptomatic HIV

This stage is known as symptoms free stage. Nevertheless, it does not mean that a person has not infected with HIV. HIV is present in the blood but at low level. HIV can be detected in the blood. The result of HIV test appears to be positive in this stage. The duration of the period is almost ten years from the HIV infection. Moreover, the period can be extended or it may be shorter.

Symptomatic HIV

Symptomatic HIV is the third stage of the HIV infection. The immune system is totally damaged by the virus at this stage. As the result of this opportunistic infections attack on the immune system. They cause to create the health problems and lead the body to be the victim of AIDS. Some of them are cytomegalovirus, tuberculosis and shingles. HIV effects on almost all systems of the body.

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

AIDS is the final stage of HIV infection. In this stage the virus takes hold of immune system completely. It continuously damages the CD4 cells. The CD4 cells' count comes down to below 200. It means a person has developed AIDS.

HIV replicates itself for damaging the CD4 cells. However, the strategy of the virus is different for grabbing the immune system. It systematically, works to develop AIDS.
