PNG authorities hunt 'AIDS cure' Aussie

Papua New Guinea authorities are on the look out for an Australian man who has been selling a fake cure for HIV-AIDS.

Melbourne-based Brian Marshall has been quietly selling bottled water as a cure for HIV-AIDS in Papua New Guinea since late last year.

The man in charge of the Government's response to the country's HIV epidemic, Jamie Maxtone-Graham, is outraged.

"We know that this water cannot cure anything. This should be established as a fraud case and if he steps foot in PNG, he should be arrested [and] locked up," he said.

Papua New Guinea immigration officials say they will investigate the matter.
