HIV scare after Cannonvale car crash

Queensland Health says it has been contacted by four members of the public who were concerned they may have been exposed to HIV after attending a fatal car crash in north Queensland last week.

Emergency services workers and motorists who attended last Thursday's crash at Cannonvale have been advised by Queensland Health to seek medical advice with regards to possible HIV exposure.

A 30-year-old man died in the accident.

A Queensland Health spokeswoman says the four people who have made contact have been assessed as having no or a very low risk of infection.
